East Coast Academic Center
Designed for students that need some structure and skill work during the summer, but don't need a full, five day/week summer school. With small classes, experienced teachers w/M.S.Ed degrees, and interesting content, kids get a chance to blend higher level thinking skills with crucial skills.
The class basically takes on two formats - communication skills (debate, methods of persuasion, discussion) in the morning, and writing skills (brainstorming, drafting, intro and conclusion, editing, and SAT writing prep) in the afternoon.
This is the first year, so they're keeping the program extremely small and will have about 4 instructors for 10-20 students. Parents can sign their kids up for anywhere from 20-80 hours for the summer, spread out over 6 weeks. Classes will be held at Endicott College in the Post Center.
